Forest Walks and Trails

Forest of Dean

Explore the forest on foot or by bike.

Get back to nature and explore the amazing forest that surrounds you on your Log Cabin break.  At each Cabin site, you'll find a number of forest walks and cycle trails that will lead you through beautiful Forestry Commission woodlands.  Trails range from one to ten miles and from varied forest terrain to pushchair friendly paths so the whole family can get out and discover the wonders of the forest.

Our forest walks and trails offer an ideal opportunity to discover the amazing wildlife that inhabit the forest.  Bring your binoculars and look out for roe and red deer, wild boar, otters playing in the shores of the Scottish Lochs and many species of birds including the occassional sighting of the pine marten at Strathyre Cabins.  The forests are quite literally teaming with wildlife!

Bikes can be hired from all of our Cabin sites and with child seats and tag-a-longs, the whole family can join in the fun!  Find out more about bike hire eat our Cabin sites.

The forest walks and trails provide great dog walking routes too!  Dogs will be in heaven with the miles and miles of woodland to explore.  So as not to disturb the wildlife in their habitat, we do ask that dogs are kept on a short lead at all times and under full control by the owner.  You can find more details on holidays with dogs at Forest Holidays Cabin sites.

So, put your boots on, leave the car behind and discover the best way to explore the natural beauty of the forest come rain, hail or shine!
