Explore the real forest


Every Forest Holidays location has a resident Forest Ranger. An expert in the life of the forest who is ready and eager to share their woodland skills and knowledge with you.  Find out the real secrets of the forest; how to spot elusive animals, where the wild garlic grows or which berries to eat and which to avoid. Your Forest Ranger will bring the forest alive for you.

Young Explorers

Explore the environment and collect treasures!


Under the direction of the Forest Ranger, youngsters will be accompanied into the forest to learn more about this unique environment and then collect treasures ... It’s then that the creativity starts! Youngsters have time to create a take home item, the likes of which you may never have seen before! Forest book marks, tree sculptures and dream catchers – who knows what they will return with!

Twilight Walks

Wander into the forest at dusk


As the sun sets so the forest changes. Bring your torch and join our Forest Ranger at dusk for a wander into the forest to explore the local flora, fauna and wildlife – and hear about the unique eco-structure of the UK’s woodland. You will be amazed at how much you will learn. What’s more we know you will have fun learning it!

Night Vision

The forest comes to life at night!


The forest really comes to life at night! No need for torches on this adventure, as you will be equipped with the lightest and smallest night vision equipment commercially available in the UK. You will quietly stalk in the forest under the expert guidance of our Forest Ranger. Who knows what you will see 3 different species of deer – or a night owl? Unique and truly memorable!

Bush Skills

Essential forest survival skills


If you lost your cabin key could you survive a night in the forest? Learn some essential forest survival skills, map reading, foraging for food, natural medicines and make your very own forest shelter. Suitable for all ages, a great family fun activity! Please wear long trousers and enclosed footwear, due to the woodland environment.
