Celebrating St David’s Day

For our two Welsh locations, Beddgelert in Snowdonia (Eryri) and Garwnant in the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog), St David’s Day is more than a date in the diary. It’s a chance to celebrate the landscapes, language, legends and local communities that make Wales such an incredible place to explore.

Discover Beddgelert

Nestled in the heart of Eryri National Park, Beddgelert is a place woven with legend.

A landscape filled with story

The village is famously linked with the legend of Gelert, Prince Llywelyn’s faithful dog, a tale passed down through generations. Guests can visit Gelert’s Grave, take scenic riverside walks and experience the timeless folklore that Wales is known for.

March in Eryri is a great time for:

  • Walks through the Aberglaslyn Pass
  • Exploring Beddgelert Village, wander the stone cottages, riverside paths, small independent shops and cafés in one of Snowdonia’s most picturesque villages.
  • Discovering Welsh‑speaking cafés and craft shops in one of Wales’ strongest Welsh‑language communities
