Forest Holidays

Richard Bosworth

General Manager at Beddgelert

Our General Manager Richard is responsible for overseeing the daily operation and care for the surrounding nature and landscape at Beddgelert. With over 20 years of experience, he is passionate about making the guest experience the best it can be. His favourite woodland area is of course, Beddgelert forest which is abundant with natural waterfalls and breath-taking scenery. He always finds hidden paths to discover a different side to the forest throughout the seasons. In his spare time he can be found eating out at the local Hebog Eat in Beddgelert village or enjoying a day of history and thrills at the Slate Mountain Adventure at Llechwedd Slate Caverns.

What is the best thing to do when it is raining?

“Definitely watch a film or play Scrabble. There is nothing more magical than being cosy in a warm cabin all snug with the log burner going and watching a film with the family.”
  • Housekeeping Manager

    Karen Tomkins

Housekeeping manager Karen can be found assisting our guests during their stay and maintaining our cabins cleanliness. She can also be found in our Bakehouse cooking up baked goods and delivering evening takeaway meals to our guests. Karen's favourite walk is from our location to the village of Beddgelert. Here you can enjoy an ice cream or two in the famous shop or refuel at a local pub.

What is your favourite forest activity?

"Toasting marshmallows on a open fire."
  • Forest Retreat Manager

    Lesley Mort

Our Forest Retreat Manager Lesley can be found in the Forest Retreat checking in guests, assisting with food and beverage and delivering orders to the cabins. Her favourite place to visit is Llanberis, where you can enjoy wild swimming in the lake and walk through old slate mines. She enjoys getting outside, walking, cycling and swimming in all weathers and recommends a visit to Cafe Colwyn for a bite to eat!

What is your favourite cabin at Beddgelert and why?

"Cabin 10, it is tucked away from the main drive, not overlooked and have views of the train track so you can see the steam train as it passes through."
