Halloween breaks UK

Enjoy a spooktacular break of fun and games this October

Halloween breaks in the forest

With the summer holidays a fond but distant memory, and Christmas not approaching quickly enough, Halloween is a perfect excuse for you and your family to indulge in a well-earned break.

Nowhere is a better backdrop to your Halloween break than the forest; tell each other stories under the forest canopy or delight a movie with the in-cabin entertainment package. Quality family time has never been so magical!

Halloween activities

Whether you’re travelling with the kids or fancy being a kid yourself, Halloween in the forest has plenty of fun to sink your fangs into. Get creative and have a go at designing and carving your own Halloween pumpkin with a free pumpkin and carving kit for every cabin. Journey through the forest under a canopy of stars, and delight in sweet marshmallows as you listen to stories of myths and legends from our Forest Ranger.

  • Myths & Legends

Experience the magic of the forest at night with a Halloween walk. Follow the trail to a twilight campfire where our Forest Ranger will provide marshmallows to roast and tell mysterious tales of local myths and legends. Wrap up warm or come dressed in your spookiest outfit for an unforgettable evening listening to stories under the night sky.

    Activity is approximately 90 minutes

Forest Ranger will safely managed the fire

Please select costumes with fire safety in mind

  • Mini Forest Ranger

Kids, become a Mini Forest Ranger! Bring some grown-ups and join our Forest Ranger on a short woodland walk. You’ll learn loads, in fact – everything you need to be a Mini Forest Ranger! Learn all about plants and trees, look out for mini beasts, play games and make forest crafts. At the end take home a Mini Forest Ranger badge and certificate.

  • Nocturnal Adventure

Venture out with the Forest Ranger stalking through the woodland to try and catch a sound or glimpse of wildlife with your night vision equipment – patience and stealth are key. After spying some nocturnal wildlife in its natural habitat, pick our expert Forest Ranger’s brains on the wild forest before heading back to your cosy cabin.

October half term

We understand the importance of quality family time and so we’re here to help you make the most of your half term break. As the nights get shorter, and freshly fallen autumn leaves crunch underfoot, cosy up in your cabin with the whole family. Enjoy watching your surroundings transform as the most colourful season of the year takes a hold.

There are plenty of activities and attractions, surrounding each of our Forest Holidays locations, to keep the kids entertained. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit some of Britain’s haunted heritage cities, such as York, as a special Halloween treat! Don’t be afraid to try something new this year and make memories that will last a lifetime!

A Halloween to remember

There’s plenty of room for a Halloween gathering with a difference. Book multiple cabins together to accommodate your group, whatever the size. Or treat yourselves to a stay in the Golden Oak Treehouse, which sleeps up to 10 guests comfortably. After fun in the woods, shut the door on the chilly autumn night and gather for Halloween games and stories around the wood burning stove.
