Our location at Keldy is situated in North Yorkshire, deep in a wooded valley, comprising of 67 forest cabins. There is a wide choice of accommodation including our Classic cabins - Silver Birch, Golden Oak, Golden Oak Treehouse and our new style cabins White Willow Premium and Golden Oak Hideaway.
At the heart of our location at Keldy is the Forest Retreat, housed in an old stone building where our friendly team are on hand to help you make the most of your break. There is also a well-stocked shop, which has everything from everyday essentials to gifts, and souvenirs, many of which are locally sourced. You can also meet the Forest Ranger, book activities, and hire bikes. Next door you’ll find all-day dining and some great local beers to be enjoyed at the bar.
Our restaurant and café at Keldy Forest is open from 9am for all-day dining. Choose from breakfast, brunch, small plates or British classics, with draught beers, cocktails and a full wine list to complement your meal. With an outdoor seating area, it’s just the spot to sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of the forest.
We also offer a takeaway menu, so you can have your favourites delivered to enjoy in the comfort of your cabin. Simply pop in and order with us or place an online order from your cabin. Then sit back while we take care of the cooking and deliver your meal right to your cabin door.
In the shop at Keldy, you will find all the essentials you need during your stay, from essential groceries to souvenirs to take home. We sell a range of groceries, toiletries, beverages and of course souvenirs to remind you of your forest adventure. Please note that our usual opening times are 8:30am – 5:30pm (8.30am - 8pm on Mondays & Fridays).

There are two electric vehicle charging points at Keldy near to the Forest Retreat. Do not use extension leads to charge your vehicle from a cabin socket - this is not permitted as it can cause fires, circuit overload and loss of power to your cabin or the entire location.
Bike hire is available at Keldy, simply visit the Forest Retreat and speak to a member of the team or add to your booking through your online account to collect your bikes at check-in. Don’t forget to ask for a guide to the nearby trails at the Forest Retreat, which provide details of High Muffles Loop, a pleasant and easy 4.8km family trail, and Spiers Bank, another easy meander through the forest. Slightly longer is the Cropton Circular, which takes you into the heart of the forest.

Explore Cropton and Keldy Forest with our new all-terrain mobility scooters. Tramper hire prices start from £3.00 for 3 hours. Daily slots are available between 9am and 3pm.

Your Forest Ranger has a wealth of useful and entertaining forest facts and is on location at the Forest Retreat every day to share them with you. You can book onto the Forest Ranger adventures, or simply have a chat with your Forest Ranger, to learn about life in the forest, from the expert. The full schedule of Forest Ranger adventures, including treasure hunts and Night Vision walks, will delight children and adults alike.
There is a children’s play area available at Keldy, but please bear in mind that children must always be supervised by an adult.
At Keldy there is a bug hotel, attracting lots of bugs and insects. This means they can pollinate our flowers and keep unwanted pests to a minimum like aphids and slugs.
Drop into the Forest Retreat at Keldy to find out about our self-led trails; some are themed and great for family walks. Or try the Rosedale trail, a 4.8km loop with views of Rosedale, Hartoft Valley, and the distant moors. For the more experienced walkers try the longer 16km loop offering great views and a variety of landscapes. For a more challenging walk, the Newtondale trail is a 22.5km hike, with a rewarding vista over the dales.
