Meet the Deerpark team

A little bit about our people

Jon Doyle

General Manager at Deerpark

You’ll find Jon in the Forest Retreat, office and walking around our fantastic site at Deerpark. Rain or shine, Jon loves walking his dog Freddie and having a bite to eat in the Forest Retreat. His favourite part of the job is the location itself, often having a ‘pinch me’ moment being so close to nature and witnessing guests enjoy the beautiful setting whilst making holiday memories.

Favourite British animal?

“Kingfisher!”

Fun forest fact?

“Deerpark used to be a gunpowder factory from 1850’s-1920’s.”

    Nick Price

    Forest Ranger

Our Forest Ranger at Deerpark is a very elusive species that can be spotted exploring locations in the forest, out on activities and planning fun events for our guests. Nick's favourite forest walk is around the rumps on Pentire head near Polzeath for stunning views and variety of wildlife. His rarest wildlife sighting at Deerpark is a species of centipede that can been seen to produce a bioluminescent liquid (if you’re lucky).

What is your favourite thing about working at Forest Holidays?

"I am lucky enough to be outside in the forest every day, educating and inspiring others with the natural wonders of the forest."

    Roger Arnold

    Facilities Manager

Roger can be found reviewing the hot tubs and cabin maintenance with his team, proactively getting involved with across the site. He enjoys working with such a “friendly bunch” who always work hard to make sure each guest has the perfect break. Roger loves the late spring when the fine weather is on its way, especially when the flock of Canada Geese set down on the mill pond ready to welcome new Goslings to the site.

Favourite place to visit in the local area?

“I love the coast walk from Hannafore (Looe) on a fine day with views of Looe Island and beyond. Out of season it’s taking the dogs to the beach to see them frolic in the sea.”

    Favourite woodland area at Deerpark?

“Past cabin 25 on the foot path following the river up stream with the blue bells on the forest floor.”

You’ll find Caz in the kitchen producing and overseeing the delivery of our exciting menus, ready to enjoy in the Forest Retreat or delivered to your cabin door. Caz has lived and worked at Deerpark for nearly 18 years, meaning she’s seen many changes – all for the better. A highlight has definitely been seeing Deerpark in the snow.
