Cycling & bike hire at Strathyre, Scotland

Collect your hire cycles at Strathyre and hit the trail. The National Cycling Route 7 goes straight past our cabins and offers miles of relatively easy off-road cycling along the old railway route. With lochs, waterfalls, forests and rivers along the route, there are plenty of places to enjoy a picnic and a rest.
Loch Katrine

A family day out

The kids will love this combo. Pack a picnic and start your cycle at Trossachs Pier on Loch Katrine. Follow the shores of the lochs round to Stronachlachar. This picturesque and not too demanding 21km route should take you a couple of hours and you’ve earned the return journey; cruising the loch on the Sir Walter Scott or the Lady of the Lake steamship.

Dukes Pass loop

A fine forest ride

If you are a keen cyclist, the Duke’s Pass loop is a great day’s cycling. This 38km route starts at nearby Callander and, after a climb, takes in the Dukes Pass, one of most picturesque routes in Scotland. The last couple of miles is a steep drop and a rewarding straight.

Thrilling mountain biking

The Glen Finglas loop

The Glen Finglas loop is not for the faint-hearted. This 24km route is a great way to push your limits in some of the wilder spots of the Trossachs. It has serious climbs and swooping downhills and the views are as dramatic as the cycling.
