Forest of Dean
In the ancient oak wood of the Forest of
Dean, dappled sunlight filters through the green canopy of trees
which have stood for centuries.
Within its 35 square miles the Forest of Dean has more visitor
facilities and events than any other national forest park in
Britain, and is home to a huge variety of wildlife.
Choose from eleven forest trails, cycle
routes, an arboretum or any of nine areas designated as Sites of
Special Scientific Interest.
There are more than a thousand sites of
industrial archaeology, which provide a fascinating insight into
the life of the forest over the centuries.
Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy fishing, riding,
caving, rock-climbing and canoeing or a day trip to nearby Tintern
Abbey, Bristol, Gloucester or South Wales.
We have three camping & caravanning sites
within the Forest of Dean, each with its own distinctive character.
Christchurch is a gently sloping grass
site; Woodland is a superbly wooded site,
with pitches set into the trees; and Bracelands enjoys magnificent views over the
rolling countryside.
Reception for all sites is at Christchurch.
On arrival please book in at Reception at the entrance to
Christchurch site.
A £10 cash deposit for a barrier key is
required.
