Blackwood Forest offers 60 luxury cabins nestled deep in a 270-hectare beech forest in the rolling countryside of Hampshire. Our full range of architect-designed cabin accommodation includes the romantic Golden Oak Hideaway and magical Golden Oak Treehouse. When you arrive on-location make your way to the Forest Retreat, where you can shop, eat, drink, meet the team, and book your activities, including Forest Ranger adventures. There is also an exciting outdoor children’s play area.
At the heart of our Blackwood Forest location is the Forest Retreat. Here you can meet our friendly team, who will help you make the most of your holiday. Housed in a cabin-style building, you’ll find a well-stocked shop with all the essentials, a comfortable seating area and bar and restaurant serving good food all day.
Our restaurant at Blackwood Forest is open from 9am for all-day dining. Choose from breakfast, brunch, small plates or British classics, with draught beers, cocktails and a full wine list to complement your meal. With an outdoor seating area, it’s just the spot to sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of the forest.
We also offer a takeaway menu, so you can have your favourites delivered to enjoy in the comfort of your cabin. Simply pop in and order with us or place an online order from your cabin. Then sit back while we take care of the cooking and deliver your meal right to your cabin door.
Please note our Forest Retreat at Blackwood Forest is closed to the public on Monday & Friday afternoons.

There are two vehicle charging points available on location at Blackwood Forest. These can be found outside the Forest Retreat.
Do not use extension leads to charge your vehicle from a cabin socket - this is not permitted as it can cause fires, circuit overload and loss of power to your cabin or the entire location.
Bike hire is available at Blackwood Forest, please visit the Forest Retreat and speak to a member of the team or add to your booking through your online account. Explore the local area on two wheels, with lots of stopping off places for picnics or pub lunch. From routes around the cathedral city of Winchester to National Cycle Routes that take you down to the south coast, Hampshire is perfect for a cycling holiday.
Blackwood Forest is home to our Forest Ranger, Alison. Her background is in Countryside and Wildlife Management and she has taught practical habitat management at Sparsholt College. Alison has a particular interest in butterflies and is very pleased that Blackwood Forest hosts the Purple Emperor butterfly. Accompanying you on your Forest Ranger activities, Alison will show you all the hidden workings of the forest!
The children’s play area at Blackwood Forest will be closed from 10 November - 3 December whilst our brand new play park is fitted. But don’t worry - there’s plenty of fun to be had around the forest!
There is a bug hotel at Blackwood Forest, attracting lots of bugs and insects. This means they can pollinate our flowers and keep unwanted pests to a minimum like aphids and slugs.
Explore the beech trees of Blackwood Forest, following the trails that start from right outside your cabin. Pick up a leaflet from the Forest Retreat and take one of the marked paths, from 3.2km to 6km, or wander along one of the many, small, unmarked woodland trails, including a nature-spotting walk around the meadow.
