  • Children's play area

    Children's play area

Exclusive to Delamere Forest, our brand new natural playgrounds highlight the importance of natural play and open up a world of curiosity and creativity.

Near the Forest Retreat, children aged 0 to 4 years can run free on a tactile playscape bordered by greenery, while you relax with a cuppa. Inspired by the design of our cabins and crafted using natural materials, this is a safe space for little ones to practice their balance skills and decision making abilities in the fresh forest air.  There’s a mini cabin and a play kitchen too.

Our second playground is great for children 6+ (and any adults who fancy a go). This design is positioned around the existing trees, and brings natural play deeper into the forest to create a unique sensory experience. Test your agility on the wobble bridge, tackle the parkour ropes and get active in a beautiful natural setting.

  • Bug hotel and wildlife

    Bug hotel and wildlife

At Delamere Forest there is a bug hotel, attracting lots of bugs and insects. This means they can pollinate our flowers and keep unwanted pests to a minimum like aphids and slugs.

Delamere Forest is home to birdwatching haven Blakemere Moss lake and walking route Old Pale - the highest point of the forest where views as far as Liverpool’s harbour buildings can be seen. Look for small tortoiseshell butterflies and white faced darter dragonflies as you wander through the wide forest paths. Or listen out for green woodpeckers as you dine alfresco on your outdoor decking and uncover a different world right on your doorstep.
