Meet the Garwnant team

A little insight into the people you might meet during your stay

James Morgan

General Manager at Garwnant, Brecon Beacons

James oversees all operations at Forest Holidays Garwnant in the beautiful Brecon Beacons. His favourite place to visit in the local area is Pen-Y-Fan Mountain.

He loves the outdoors and spends a lot of my time walking the surrounding hills in Brecon and recommends The Red Trail around the location.

James's rarest wildlife sighting at Garwnant is a Roe Deer.

What is your favourite woodland area at Garwnant?

"My favourite woodland area is the Arboretum walking trail which leads to the Ranger den"

  • Zack Williams

    Deputy General Manager

Zack can be found in the Visitor Centre, Cafe area or out and about in the forest. He welcomes our guests each week and helps them to discover the South Wales Valleys during their stay. His favourite place to visit in the local area is Cyfarthfa Park, Merthyr Tydfill. Zack loves the outdoors and recommends walking through the animal sculpture trail which can be found on The Red Trail on location.

What is your fun forest fact?

"The Usnea Lichen (also referred to as Old Man's Beard) symbolises areas of clean air and can be found throughout Garwnant.

    Rob Moses

    Operations manager

Rob is our Operations Manager at Garwnant. His favourite thing about working at Forest Holidays is the variation of work and the diversity of the team. He enjoys spending time with family and friends and loves to explore the great outdoors with hill walking and off-road mountain biking. Rob recommends staying in cabin 40 as the stunning views from the decking make it feel well spaced and remote.

What makes Forest Holidays that bit different to your average holiday cottage?

"The attention to detail and how we are always striving for the very best guest experience"

    Keryn Morgan

    Housekeeping/Cabin Manager

Keryn is always walking around our site and checking in on our cabins, getting to know all our guests and learning about their backgrounds. Keryn finds walking through the forest whilst it’s raining extremely peaceful and recommends Cyfarthfa Museum as a must do activity.

    Fun forest fact?

“If you look for rotting wood during a frosty day, you may find what looks like hair made of frost growing from it, this is a fungus that lives in the wood and looks like silky ice.”
