Babies and toddler friendly holidays

The forest is a magical place for children, however young they are, and we welcome babies and toddlers. Of course, even on holiday, little ones create work, so all our locations have a launderette and baby provisions can be bought in the Forest Retreat. You can also pre-book a high chair and cot for your cabin, to save you feeling like you are moving house rather than just packing for a holiday!

TEENAGERS IN THE FAMILY?

Keeping them occupied is easy

We'll keep them busy. How about high-adrenaline mountain biking through the woods? Or maybe kayaking, climbing or caving? Check individual sites to see what's on offer. Of course, a teenager wouldn't be a teenager if they didn't lie around indoors for some of the time.  So why not chose one of our luxury cabins that have a large flat screen TV, DVD player or in-cabin entertainment system and a Wii games console.

Let the children run free

What are the school holidays for? At Forest Holidays, it's the freedom to explore, make dens, play endless games. It’s hours of outdoor fun; chasing butterflies, spotting wild animals, pond dipping and tree climbing. And if children are happy discovering the forest, then parents are happy too. While the children charge about, you can recharge, and spend some precious days reconnecting with nature, with your family, and with yourself.

Making learning fun

Children can learn something new every day in the forest. And to help you explore the forest, the Woodland Trust's 'Nature Detectives' website offers seasonal activity packs. Made especially for children, these packs are full of original, exciting ideas for how to learn whilst you play.

Go out on Scavenger Hunts using the Nature Detectives checklist or use Scavenger Hunts as a basis for games of i-spy. For older children, why not use the forest materials around you to recreate twig skeletons as a new way to learn about bones in the body?  The forest is full of engaging opportunities to learn more about the natural world. Get out and explore!

Why not book a one bedroom cabin with a four bedroom cabin to suit all the family’s needs? Everyone can gather in the larger cabin’s spacious lounge and decking areas for dinner, chat and games. And grandparents can sneak off to their own cabin for peace and quiet whenever it suits them!
