We’re proud to announce that Forest Holidays has been given the bronze award by the Armed Forces Covenant for its Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).

The ERS recognises commitment and support from UK employers for Armed Forces personnel and their families and aims to inspire other employers to do the same.

At Forest Holidays we employ people with a range of skillsets across a variety of backgrounds, including several ex-military personnel.

Bruce McKendrick, Chief Executive Officer at Forest Holidays, said: “At Forest Holidays we’re proud of the Armed Forces and endeavour to support both serving and ex-military personnel, as well as their families, where possible. We employee a number of ex-military personnel across the business and find the skills and mind set of those who have worked in defence make excellent assets that fit well amongst our team.”

Andrew Brook is one such employee, who, after leaving his role as Captain in the Royal Engineers in 2012, now utilises his skills as Future Sites Manager at Forest Holidays.

He said: “It can be difficult to convey the knowledge, skills and exposure that you have developed during your time in the military, but when leaving the Army in 2012 it was clear to me that Forest Holidays recognised all of these. As a rapidly growing company they needed people to hit the ground running and recognised that experience from the military was easily transferable. I’m happy to say that the company is still growing and that opportunities for personal and career development are still plentiful.”
