Forest Holidays is celebrating after winning a prestigious tourism award at The Silver Travel Awards held at The London Transport Museum. The Silver Travel Awards recognise the suppliers, experiences and destinations that best serve the over-50s market.

The holiday company who offers luxury woodland cabin stays across 9 forest locations in the UK, was presented with the award for “Best self catering operator" winning over and above other shortlisters including Airbnb and Haven Holidays. The winners were all voted for by Silver Traveller holidaymakers themselves.

The champagne reception was hosted by actress Amanda Redman and entertainment provided by The Classic FM String Quartet.

Bruce McKendrick, Chief Executive Officer at Forest Holidays, said: "We're delighted that Silver Traveller holidaymakers have voted Forest Holidays as the favourite self catering operator of the more mature traveller! Our breaks allow you to relax or be as active as you like in a wonderful forest setting, so there is a definite appeal to mature travellers and those who like to take their extended family away.  Everyone at Forest Holidays is dedicated to making sure our customers have a great holiday experience, so it's nice to know their hard work is recognised.”
