Following a year of non-stop fundraising, we’re thrilled to have been able to hand over a cheque for a phenomenal £10,000 to our Support Centre’s charity of the year, Myeloma UK.

Our team has been tirelessly organising wonderful new initiatives across the year to help raise funds to aid Myeloma UK in their excellent work providing care to cancer sufferers.

Over the course of 2016, our team has raised money through dress down days, a charity car wash, an Easter raffle, a golf day and to name but a few activities.

We’re not stopping here though, our fundraising continues with dress down days, an ongoing Bake Off competition and a Christmas raffle in the pipeline.

Bruce McKendrick, Chief Executive Officer of Forest Holidays, said: “At Forest Holidays, we’re proud of the work we do to support worthy causes like Myeloma UK. As a team we put in a lot of effort to ensure we’re giving something back to the community, and our charity of the year is just one way in which we do this.”

Myeloma UK was put forward as charity of the year by team member Wendy Orton, who was an active supporter of the charity. After Wendy passed away from an unrelated illness in 2015, the Support Centre team voted to donate proceeds from fundraising activities to Myeloma UK, Wendy’s chosen charity, in her memory.

Bruce continued: “This year, having decided to donate our fundraising efforts in Wendy’s memory, the team have had a lot of drive to ensure our best efforts go into supporting Myeloma UK, with fantastic results.”
