We're celebrating Cropton's 10th birthday!

In the past 10 years, our Cropton location in North Yorkshire has provided natural escapes in the heart of the North York Moors National Park. To mark the occasion, we're taking time to reflect on the positive impact the location has had on people, nature, and the local community!

At Cropton, we have 57 eco-sensitive, self-catering cabins. Each designed to fit sensitively within the grassy woodland meadow in the heart of Cropton forest. The location benefits from having a Forest Retreat, where we buy and contract in the local area, keeping as much of our own spend in the area as we can.

43 local people have been recruited into permanent roles. Working in the forest is a unique experience, and we recruit locally, nurturing the skills, and passions of each team member. Discover more about careers at Forest Holidays.

11,200km have been travelled by Turtle Doves from Africa to Yorkshire. This protected species are in decline nationally, but in the woodland around Cropton, we are lucky enough to support a good breeding population, and our Forest Ranger helps in monitoring this threatened species. For our Forest Rangers, it is natural to spread the word about caring for the forest.

£1,722 worth of donations have been raised for Yorkshire Air Ambulance and 25 bikes have been donated to Scarborough & Rydale Community Cycling.
