Frequently asked questions

What are the best winter holiday activities?

If you’re looking for things to do in winter, there are a whole host of woodland activities to choose from. Explore the forest, in all its wintery glory and keep an eye out for robins and blackbirds. Our Forest Ranger adventures are a great way to learn more about the world around you and navigate off track to hidden areas of the forest. For thrill seekers out there, test your nerve and head for heights at Go Ape. There’s plenty of activities to enjoy in the local area so don’t forget to ask the team for their recommendations.

Are there log burning stoves available in the cabins?

Yes, our Golden Oak, Hideaway, Treehouse and White Willow Premium cabins all come with a log burning stove in the living area. Don’t forget to add kiln dried logs to your booking via your online account and we’ll have them ready in your cabin for your arrival. Our White Willow Premium cabin comes with complimentary logs to get you started on your cosy winter stay.

What are the best locations for a winter holiday?

All our 13 locations in the UK offer a wonderful base for your winter holiday in the forest. Whether you choose a cabin overlooking the enchanting Loch Lubnaig in Scotland, a cabin surrounded by idyllic riverside woodland in Wales, or opt for a cabin close to the Cornish coast there’s something for everyone on a winter holiday in the forest.

What winter wildlife might we see?

Winter is a time that lots of wildlife go into hibernation, but there are some species that thrive this time of year. Expect to see robins, blackbirds, and thrush which are likely to be seen eating bright red berries, which they forage for on the festive holly bush. On crisp frosty mornings there are signs that the forest is bursting with life so look out for animal tracks in the ground.

Why not get ahead and book for next year?

Ditch the last-minute present panic and give someone a winter break to look forward to instead. Buy gift vouchers for your next escape, snap up a festive surprise or go for the unexpected this Valentine's Day. It's the perfect present, all wrapped up.
