Mountain climbing, forest walks, fishing, canoeing, shopping and sightseeing… A break in Strathyre will please everybody.  Our Strathyre cabins are in the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, watched over by majestic peaks of Ben Ledi.  Tackle big adventures or simply enjoy the forest, a sanctuary for rare wildlife.  Look out for red squirrels practically knocking on your cabin door, buzzards overhead and wild deer peeping from between the trees.

At Strathyre we work together as a team to make sure every aspect of your holiday is enjoyable. At the Forest Retreat we can offer holiday ideas and advice and book activities for you. Our very own Forest Ranger will tell you anything and everything about the forest around you, and our operational team will add those special touches that ensure the smooth running of your holiday.

Emma Bradie leads the team at Strathyre and is living proof of our strategy to develop talent from within. Emma started out as a Site Assistant, was ambitious, showed potential and is well and truly on the management ladder now. She has also worked at our Sherwood site.

The Forest Retreat, at the heart of our Strathyre site has everything you need to make your holiday special. Here you’ll find the friendly team on hand to book activities and offer help and advice. You can enjoy freshly cooked meals and snacks in the warm, inviting café or relax over a drink at the bar. The Forest Retreat is stocked full of everyday essentials, holiday luxuries and special souvenirs.

THINGS TO DO AT STRATHYRE

Relax and unwind or get active

Strathyre is the perfect place to relax and unwind and really get away from it all. You can do as little or as much as you like here. Hideaway in your cabin with a good book and relax in your hot tub or get out and about and hire a bike to explore. For the more adventurous try a spot of fishing, pony trekking or canoeing.

Take a trip to the town of Callander - the gateway to the Highlands - a picturesque Scottish market town associated with the infamous Rob Roy.  For the more adventurous head for Go Ape in the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park.

FOREST RANGER ACTIVITIES

Discover the secrets of the forest

Your Forest Ranger will introduce you to a world of woodland secrets. Learn how to identify animal tracks; take a dusk expedition, or head off and explore the forest by night, using Night Vision glasses. During the day there are lots of exciting activities for children, which will teach them all about the forest while ensuring that they have lots of fun too. Your Forest Ranger activities can be booked when you book your cabin break or at the Forest Retreat, but remember they can often become fully booked.
