At reception in the Forest Retreat you’ll find help and advice on everything from bike hire to bird-watching, and our very own Forest Ranger will show you the secrets of the forest. The whole team work together to ensure that every aspect of your holiday experience is enjoyable.

Laurent Agostinelli is the leader of the team at Ardgartan Argyll. Before starting as a General Manager for Forest Holidays, Laurent ran an impeccable 5-star hotel and he has brought his creative attention to detail, and passion for excellent customer service with him.

You’ll find all you need to make your holiday special when you visit the Forest Retreat - the hub of our Ardgartan Argyll location. Here you’ll find the team on hand to book activities and offer help and advice. You can enjoy freshly cooked meals and snacks in the café and relax with a fresh coffee. Visit the well-stocked shop for everything from essential groceries to special gifts.

Take in the breathtaking views of the loch whilst relaxing in your hot tub followed by a cosy evening in front of the log burner watching a movie. Or why not get active and hire a bike, or go on a hidden glen safari - try and spot the Scottish 'big 5'; seals, red squirrels, stags, otters, and the elusive Golden Eagle! The choice really is yours.

Take a trip out and spend a lazy afternoon village-hopping around the loch whilst enjoying the stunning scenery.  There are plenty of good village pubs to stop off for lunch.

Having gained a wealth of experience during his time working for the Forestry Commission, Andy is a fountain of knowledge. Join him for a number of Forest Ranger adventures during your stay and learn about the secrets of the forest!
