“Christmas time, mistletoe and wine, love and laughter and joy ever after”
Thanks Cliff, that’s enough. If you’re feeling a little less positive than the ever-optimistic Cliff Richards, it might be time for a radical rethink of your Christmas plans. Believe it or not there is still time to book your cabin in the forest and recapture some Christmas magic. And a whole week further ahead, if New Year’s Eve is still looking terrifyingly blank on your social calendar, head for the forest and see the old year out in style.
A Last Minute Christmas Break
Feeling the strain? It’s hard work creating the perfect Christmas and expectations seem to grow every year. Yes, of course, in the end it’s all worth it but sometimes, after the frenzy of December, the day itself seems to come and go in a flash. As we pick the tinsel out of the carpet and stuff the bins to overflowing on Boxing Day another year is already blurring into Christmas past….
Hold on –it’s not over yet. It’s not even here yet! There is just enough time to turn Christmas 2013 into your most memorable Christmas ever - but you need to act fast. We still have a few Christmas cabin breaks left; very few, but this could be the making of your Christmas. How about Cropton or Keldy for a Yorkshire Christmas break? Or head to Strathyre in Scotland for a landscape that is pure Winter Wonderland (sorry Cliff).
Christmas in the Forest
It’s still your Christmas, it’s just extra special. Wake up in your cosy cabin, light the wood burner, and gather round the tree. After a frenzy of wrapping paper, chocolates, kisses and laughs and maybe a hearty breakfast with a cheeky bucks fizz, wrap up warm and head out into the calm, silent Forest for a festive walk. Back at the cabin gather round the table for turkey and all the trimmings and then an evening of Christmas TV and films, party games and hot tub fun.
We’ll provide the special touches - Christmas tree and luxury goodie box waiting for you in your cabin, children’s activities, a brass band, carollers, or pipers on Christmas Eve and lots more festive sparkle. All you have to do is enjoy your Christmas break away from it all in the forest.
Hogmanay in Scotland
If Coca Cola owns Christmas (we’re told they invented the modern Santa), and Spain owns Easter (google “Santa Semana”), then surely the New Year belongs to Scotland. The words of Robert Burns ring through centuries and across continents, Edinburgh hosts one of the world’s largest parties and the celebrations last twice as long as anywhere else. For your own taste of Scottish Hogmanay head for a New Year break at Forest Holidays’ Strathyre or Argyll locations. Be traditional – a hearty steak pie for dinner, a wee dram or two and a rousing chorus of Auld Lang Syne. Or be less traditional and toast the New Year under a starlit sky from the luxury of your outdoor hot tub!
Merry Christmas to all
Time’s nearly up; Christmas is so close now, with New Year’s Eve hot on its heels. If you decide to make it a Forest Holiday this year with, as Cliff would say “logs on the fire and gifts on the tree” you can book online any time. We look forward to helping you to make it your most memorable Christmas and New Year ever.
Where ever you are spending it, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
